SUMMER DAY CAMP – THEATER & MUSIC INSTRUCTOR
To be part of a team of Summer Camp Staff who provide a safe and positive environment for youth participants where Theater and Music activities will help them learn to interact with staff and peers, and will enhance their talents, abilities and personal growth.
SPECIFIC DUTIES[CP1] :
- Plan and implement quality age-appropriate specialized activities with groups.
- Theater Specialists organize, lead, and promote interest in activities such as drama, musical and theater.
- Explore creativity to include dance, drama and music.
- Assume responsibility of safety regulations.
- Follow Aviator Sports and Camp objectives, rules, policies and guidelines.
- Develop daily project-based learning lesson plans for each age group.
- Follow through with activities and complete projects by the end of each week.
- Have counselors assist in activity.
- Ø Conduct daily checks for specialty areas for safety concerns.
- Serve as a positive role model for staff and campers.
- To be punctual and organized.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Maintain an atmosphere of mutual caring, respect, and understanding.
- Handle discipline problems when they occur, and practice positive behavior management.
- Throughout the week, prepare children to sing and perform for an audience on the final week of camp for their family and friends.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience – Strong background in child care, theater and music experience. Strong communication skills required. Must be a theater student or have experience with theater activities.Ability to demonstrate a pleasing personality and positive/assertive character traits. Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults. Ability to remain alert, attentive, and responsible. Ability to be a team player.
Commitment: To be able to work 7 – 8 week work commitment – July 3 through and August 25, 2023
