Vice President, Transformation Communications – Hybrid

About the Team

Enterprise Services and Public Affairs (ESPA) team seeks to enhance and protect the reputation of Citi, its businesses and the brand through direct and indirect communication with Citi’s various stakeholders, including our colleagues. The Global Communications team is a nimble team in ESPA that covers a broad scope of responsibilities, ranging from Executive communications and public engagements to quarterly earnings and corporate reputation programs as well as communications that support our lines of business. The nature of the work provides a dynamic environment where members of the team serve as company spokespeople to media, drive engagement with colleagues and develop external and internal digital communications for a global workforce. Within Citi, the team works with many internal partners, including senior leadership, and regularly coordinates closely with other members of the ESPA team across the world.

About the Role

Citi has undertaken a firm-wide Transformation that will help to modernize and simplify our bank. The Vice President of Transformation Communications is a key member of Citi’s Global Communications team within the ESPA organization, who will work specifically in support of Citi’s Chief Administrative Office (CAO), the team responsible for driving Citi’s Transformation. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Transformation Communications the Vice President will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, strategic communications that will proactively engage colleagues on the CAO’s key priorities and objectives, both within the CAO and companywide. The Vice President will work to develop and execute communications with compelling content and messaging that both aligns with broader company objectives and resonates with employees. In addition, the Vice President will work with a team of professionals and coordinate closely with Communications colleagues across Citi’s lines of business, functions and regions.

Responsibilities :

  • Support communications strategy implementation and tactical execution to enhance and drive awareness of key CAO priorities
  • Draft, proofread and disseminate communications for leaders in the CAO function, including written and video messages, talking points, town hall preparations, etc.
  • Support functional leaders and partners in driving consistent messaging that has the right tone and information and is clear, conversational, and engaging
  • Enhance existing communications best practices and governance and create new standards for communications where appropriate
  • Develop creative communications tactics to break through and resonate with colleagues while also leveraging primary web, video and town hall channels
  • Support external communications needs, as appropriate
  • Support the creation of metrics reports using analytics software to measure communications effectiveness

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, communications, marketing or another related field
  • Knowledge of communications or marketing and 6 years of increased responsibility for business management, preferably with a large and complex organization
  • Experience with managing content for corporate intranet sites, including basic use of Photoshop and HTML
  • A leader who will implement initiatives effectively and motivate others to contribute
  • Strong communications (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills, including tact, diplomacy, and ability to influence senior executives
  • Thinks creatively, approaches communications from new angles and has an instinctive distaste for wordiness, corporate jargon and flat prose
  • Ability to learn complex financial and business topics quickly and translate them into compelling narratives
  • Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive professional attitude
  • A team player who will implement initiatives effectively and motivate others to carry out their work
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Experience or demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment within a heavily matrixed organization
