Jaxon Engineering is looking for an experienced Health Safety Coordinator to join our team!
Jaxon is a distinguished leader in Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) hardening and survivability. We evaluate and offer turn-key EMP shielding products and services, design EMP systems and facilities, and deliver high quality technical services. Jaxon is the only company able to offer turn-key EMP shielding products and services to our Department of Defense and commercial customers.
As an Employee Health & Safety Officer, you will have the opportunity to provide a safe working environment, while improving health, wellbeing & function throughout the facility. By facilitating compliance with occupational health and safety guidelines, raising awareness, and increasing safety resources, you’ll be supporting the company at every level.
Successful candidates must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance and sustain a 10% – 25% travel schedule.
Salary: $24-28.00, plus bonus eligibility

Primary Duties
Company-Wide Safety
- Plan and implement safety policies, programs and reporting throughout the company.
- Prepare & produce project specific safety plans, AHA/JHA and safety awareness job aids.
- Work directly with project teams, customer safety representatives and third-party safety consultants.
- Organize, maintain, and manage all safety training & certifications throughout the company.
- Prepare educational webinars & training classes to increase awareness and educate staff on safety topics.
- Prepare and present reports on accidents/violations to determine root causes and corrective actions.
Fleet Management
- Manage & maintain a small fleet of support vehicles, including trucks, trailers, forklifts & scissors lifts.
- Advise and lead employees on various vehicle/equipment safety-related topics.
- Review existing policies and procedures, making necessary additions or improvements.
Facility Support
- Oversee workplace repair, installations & other work to reduce harm or improve working environment.
- Work with HR to improve employee on-boarding process for safety & security.
- Conduct risk assessment & enforce preventative measures.
- Maintain and increase safety supplies and resources throughout the facility
Requirements
- Required 3 – 5 years of health safety coordinator or equivalent experience.
- Preferred 1 – 2 years of experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or construction environment.
- Associates Degree preferred, Bachelor’s Degree a plus.
- Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, basic computer skills. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must have a passion to learn about safety and implement safety programs in the workplace.
- Outstanding organizational, interpersonal & customer service skills.
- Critical thinker and proven problem-solving ability.
