Accounting System Manager reports to the CCSWW Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) and works closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The Accounting System Manager will perform general ledger accounting functions for the corporate office and Catholic Charities Foundation. This position will also perform some central duties coordinating and consolidation information with the Regional Finance Offices and Catholic Housing Services. The incumbent will distribute and collect centralized accounting information and perform consolidating duties. In addition to performing accounting duties, incumbent will assist in projects to upgrade internal accounting and banking systems, the incumbent will be involved to the extent appropriate to the particular matter.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, track and record weekly deposits
- Enter invoices, print weekly check runs, submit for signature and mail checks with remittance information.
- Maintains fixed Asset accounting; schedule of depreciation for all capitalized equipment. Record depreciation on a monthly basis to the general ledger.
- Maintain schedules of prepaid expenses (Vendor, annual amount, period covered, cost centers charged, and general ledger account). Prepare monthly adjusting entry to record the expense to the appropriate cost center.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Track and reconcile intercompany transactions for the whole of the organization.
- For general liability and property insurance, track payments, send invoices and collect reimbursement information.
- For self-insured programs, track collection of insurance premiums from regional offices and the payments of claims, reconciling accounts on a monthly basis.
- Track collection of unemployment premiums from regional offices and the payment of unemployment payments to the State of Washington, reconciling accounts on a quarterly basis.
- Coordinate with regions for payment of monthly Credit Card bill, track account changes and service as administrator of the credit card program under the direction of the CFO.
- Oversee the implementation of technology with regions; assist regions in implementing technology to maintain consistency and adherence to internal controls for audit.
- Work as the primary day-to-day liaison with our banking partners and monitor banking daily banking activity.
- Record monthly recurring journal entries and prepare monthly financial statements.
- Prepare audit schedules and 990 information.
- Prepare monthly Financial Statements and Budget to Actual reports.
- Assist in the annual budget preparation for the agency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in accounting from accredited business school.
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting.
- Strong organizational skills, self-motivated, and ability to prioritize multiple demands and deadlines.
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing external and internal priorities.
- Excellent written and oral communications and persuasive skills, including the ability to communicate concisely, to integrate legal and business knowledge and to provide balanced and sound legal advice regarding risks.

Preferred Qualifications
- Similar experience in working for a non-profit social service organization.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting.
