This role in summary
Whirlpool is seeking qualified candidates for a Continuous Improvement Lead (Hourly) opening to join our Commercial Laundry organization. The role is located at our Fall River, MA site. As Continuous Improvement Lead you will serve as a technical resource and project leader in the development and application of production systems across a variety of manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for the cost, quality, and safety improvements while maintaining daily operations to achieve division goals.
Hourly Rate: $29
Work Hours – 8 AM – 4:30 PM
Your responsibilities will include
- Identify, analyze and solve manufacturing process issues and equipment related problems using Word Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodology
- Initiate safety, cost, quality, and productivity improvements in the manufacturing operations
- Support, develop, and improve sheet metal forming and joining processes and related equipment in a high speed manufacturing environment
- Responsible for design, development, testing, and control of day to day, minor, and major projects involving tools, equipment, plant and manufacturing processes
- Provide technical support to technicians and work teams and serve as a technical resource for the department
- Provide technical support as required for product design, supplier quality and advanced product quality planning.
- Determine root cause of problems and implement corrective & preventive actions utilizing methods from lean manufacturing and Six Sigma
- Analyze, evaluate and document standards according to quality system requirements such as SOPs, Control Plans, and FMEAs
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other STEM discipline
- 1+ years Manufacturing work experience
Preferred skills and experiences
- Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, world-class manufacturing, and OPEX ( 6 sigma ) tools and the ability to apply them in order to establish manufacturing processes
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the specific ability to act as a team leader and interact at all layers within the organization
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Excellent planning, project management, and leadership skills
- Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Solid decision-making and judgment skills
- Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks
