City Experiences is seeking a Bartender for our City Cruises operation in Sacramento.
About the Opportunity:
Use your bartending and people skills to add magic to City Experiences Cruise and Events public cruises and private events. The position requires extensive cocktail knowledge, a passion for customer service and pride in personal grooming and presentation of self to guests. Successful candidates will possess the ability to stay calm and composed in a fast-paced environment and display the willingness to be a team player, handling bar duties and assisting with vessel preparation and closure. Days, evenings and weekend shifts available.
About You:
This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare beverages, cocktails and wine orders in adherence to state and city alcohol laws, and City Experiences service standards
- Maintain a clean and well-stocked bar
- Convey broad cocktail knowledge and mix complex drinks consistently
- Collect money, accurately make change and accurately input into POS
- Serve guests and fill server orders quickly and courteously
- Check IDs in accordance with beverage guidelines
- Diplomatically handle difficult customer service situations while maintaining City Experiences
standards and following applicable liquor laws - Additional duties may be assigned
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Broad knowledge of cocktail preparation and awareness of beverage trends
- At least two years bartending experience in a fast-paced environment
- Food Handler Certification required; TIPS certification desirable
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC and MMC.
- Experience with a Point of Service (POS) system.
- Day’s evenings, weekend’s and holiday shifts are available. A Flexible schedule is required.
- Ability to bend, rotate and reach frequently
- Ascending/descending stairs or ladders safely
- Ability to maneuver through/in/around small and/or confined areas within the vessel
- Must be able to maintain both static and dynamic standing balance to complete various duties
- associated with job
- Must be capable of performing emergency duties as listed in the vessel’s station bill
