About the Role:

Reporting to the Facilities & Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic assists with the upkeep of our facility and equipment in our Vacaville, CA, food manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate can assemble, inspect, install, and test current and new equipment to ensure operational proficiency in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do As A Maintenance Mechanic I:

    • Ensure production lines and machines are set-up for operations on a continual basis
    • Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance, service, and testing for all equipment
    • Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual and sound inspections
    • Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions
    • Read, interpret, and follow equipment operation manual instructions
    • Clean, repair, and install equipment and parts as needed; collaborate with management to update parts inventory
    • Collaborate with management and other team members to ensure operational efficiency at all times
    • Maintain documentation of work performed, including PMs and work orders
    • Follow industry best practices, company SOPs, LOTO , and all other safety protocols/procedures
    • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot equipment failures
    • Repair racks and work tables as needed
    • Perform other job tasks as assigned

What You’ll Bring As A Maintenance Mechanic I:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; Successful trade or vocational school completion preferred but not required
    • Minimum 2+ years experience as a maintenance mechanic or similar role
    • Valid CA driver’s license
    • Forklift experience preferred but not required
    • Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience
    • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
    • Welding experience preferred
    • Ability to walk, stand, and lift heavy objects for an extended period of time
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong problem solving skills; know when to elevate issues to management
    • Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
    • Solid time-management, multitasking, and organizational skills
    • Able to work collaboratively with different teams throughout the facility
