As directed by the Benefits Supervisor, administers benefits related programs. Oversees benefit enrollment offerings to new employees, approves enrollment in benefit software, enters and authorizes participant status/eligibility changes in benefit software/ HRIS, and completes benefit enrollment reporting to vendors. Educates employees/participants on benefit plans. Provides excellent customer service support to internal and external customers. Serves as liaison between participants and third parties on claim issues. Participates in onsite visits to assist employees in benefit enrollment processes during Open Enrollment. Ensures compliance with company policies and applicable federal and state laws/regulations such as the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), HIPAA, COBRA, and IRC. Completes additional assignments and duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Human Resource Management, or related field
EXPERIENCE:
- Two years direct experience administering benefit plans.
Knowledge
- Understanding of benefit contracts and benefit eligibility provisions. Functional knowledge of laws and requirements re: COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and ERISA.
- Claims background and experience preferred.
Skills
- Intermediate level proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and Excel (preferred).
- Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills, including during tight processing deadlines; and skilled in assisting individuals in stressful situations such as death and disability.
- Detail-oriented, with proficiency in math, research, and database manipulation.
Ability to:
- Solve complex benefits related issues as they arise.
- Understand IRS and DOL regulations.
- Work confidently with plan participants and third parties at all levels (including managers, executives, and retirees).
- Keep accurate records.
This job is customer facing position, and will require you to be in the office. This is not a work from home position. This job requires regular and predictable attendance.

Pay Rate: Starting at$54,500.00 annually or more based upon experience.
