Communications Strategist

We are seeking a Communications Strategist with exceptional writing, interpersonal and design skills. The candidate must be a strategic thinker with meticulous attention to detail, working well under pressure, and meeting or exceeding deadlines within a fast-paced environment. The individual will collaborate with internal partners from operations and corporate functions to ensure the delivery of consistent messaging and branding to our employee audience. In partnership with our director of communications, you will play a key part in developing creative programs to improve the value of our brand. Your Focus / Responsibilities:

Cross-departmental support and ad-hoc projects shouldn’t come as a surprise to you and you should approach each task methodically and enthusiastically. You’ll be integral in creating communications plans that will maximize quality, exposure, and engagement. You will own researching, onboarding and implementing a third-party email system for internal communications and drive it to measurable success under your leadership.
• Cultivates an understanding of our brand voice to develop fresh, compelling ideas that emphasize our values of performance, collaboration, celebration, integrity and innovation.
• Leverages strong written and design skills to prepare, create, and publish a wide variety of media for distribution across organization footprint including digital, intranet, email, print and other channels
• Works closely with various areas of the organization including sales, marketing, legal, human resources, IT, promotions/vendor relationships and other internal departments in the production of communications materials and campaigns
• Delivers well-written, edited style-and audience appropriate superior communications plans that are strategic, measurable and aligned with corporate and/or divisional goals
• Identifies, analyzes and understands target audiences and their specific communication needs — and develop effective messages for those audiences.
• Welcomes the opportunity to be on-camera and the courage to pilot new concepts.
• Provide strategic communications counsel that supports the success of individual projects as well as divisional and/or enterprise goals
• Have superior project management and time management skills to meet hard deadlines.
• Create agendas, PowerPoint presentations, newsletter, surveys, and other documents as necessary.
• Ability to work, present to and collaborate with executive leadership and other leaders is critical
• Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in both the wireless industry and digital media.
• Partners to develop LinkedIn strategy, executes posts and manages community engagement.

Education/ Experience Requirements

The Communication Strategist should be innovative, organized and self-motivated with a keen interest in driving strategic messages to key internal and external parties. Top-notch written and verbal communication skills are also important. Experience in the media or the corporate sector is a plus.

This role also requires a foundational understanding of company policy and procedure, along with:
• 3-5 years communications/marketing experience or social media experience within a corporation or agency setting
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communication Arts, Public Relations and/or Advertising is preferred.
• Experience handling videography or production equipment is a plus.
• Utilizing LinkedIn for internal/external social media strategy (required)
• Subject matter expert in utilizing and analyzing a 3rd party email service. Prefer experience evaluating service providers.
• Strong analytic skills to manage processes, make recommendations, present results and adjust strategy.
• Working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram and other social media outlets.
• Understanding and working knowledge of Diversity and Inclusion Efforts as it relates to social media.
• Team player that can roll up sleeves and happily pitch in on other tasks including special events.
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with a few local retail locations to keep abreast of the pulse of the field and gain feedback on potential communication pieces. This will require visiting stores now and then to get familiar with that environment.
• Systems Needed: Third party email Suite, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook), Canva (or similar) is a plus, Basic Adobe preferred
• Power BI is a plus

Salary Range: $49,482 – $65,613
