Electrician (Licensed)

Job Description

1. Help to maintain and repair all electrical and electronic installations including high voltage services, panel boards, distribution systems, transformers, relays, switches, cable and conduit. 2.Utilizes knowledge of NYC Electrical Code requirements to help keep necessary records of tests performed as per code requirements. 3.Carry out work order assignments, complete preventive maintenance work sheets. Or perform other duties as assigned, direct helpers and/or mechanics and periodically check their work to insure safety standards. 4.Install and maintain new branch circuits or services, conduit and flexible cable including wire, rigid pipe, boxes, BX and Greenfield. 5.Install and maintain new panel boards including up-to-date directories, circuit breaker and fuse replacement, etc. Maintain all circuit directories/installations/renovations in accurate conformity with NYC electrical code. 6.Test or “ring-out” voltage and low voltage wiring systems and troubleshoot electrical/electronic problems. 7.Read, understand, interpret and work from wiring diagrams of equipment, control system s and blueprints of electrical installations. 8.Help to install and maintain signal systems such as low voltage nurse call systems, paging systems, by following wiring diagrams and manuals. Install and maintain lighting fixtures, ballasts, lamps, etc. 9.Perform regular tests of equipment such as emergency generators, ground detectors, etc. Maintain log book or forms for all tests of generators. 10.Repair and maintain electrical and electronic plant equipment including solenoid valves, motors, electric beds, pumps etc. 11.Use electrical meters and tools to prepare occasional reports if required by the Engineering Office. Report all problems to Facilities Maintenance Supervisor and Director of Facilities Management. 12.Performs miscellaneous item of associated work including general clean ups, moving equipment, etc’as needed. 13.Order materials, as required, for work through proper channels. 14.Performs related duties as required. *ADA Essential Functions Physical Demands: Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift and move heavy materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 100lbs. must have acceptable corrected visual acuity.

‘High School Diploma, trade school or equivalent, required.

‘Minimum of five (5) years experience as a license Electrician. Hospital or Institutional experiences as a licensed electrician, preferred.

‘New York City Electrician’s license, required.

‘Possess good knowledge of NYC construction codes and Standards

The salary range for this position is $35.98-$39.47/hour
