The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.
The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks an Equipment Mechanic, Fort Lyon to perform highly skilled work in the diagnostic, overhaul, adjustment, repair and maintenance of Fort Lyon vehicles and equipment. This position is located at 30999 CR 15, Las Animas, Colorado 81050and reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Essential Job Functions
- Repairs and maintains all vehicles, heavy and light equipment.
- Completes metal fabrication and repairs as needed.
- Performs tune ups, brake work, and other preventative maintenance on all vehicles and other powered rolling equipment.
- Replaces common parts and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintains appropriate service and repair records.
- Troubleshoots air, fuel, electrical and hydraulic systems and make repairs as necessary.
- Provides assistance to grounds department on an as needed basis.
- May include supervision of work assigned to other staff.
- May include 24-7 on call responsibilities.
- Responds to emergency situations that include emergency maintenance requests, fire alarms, etc.
- Meet required COVID-19 vaccination(s), as defined by applicable law, regulation, or guidance from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Summary
- Prior experience in equipment maintenance required.
- License, certificate or degree in a trade or maintenance field preferred.
