Who We Need
Immediately Hiring a Learning & Development Specialist at our Administration office in Mesa, Arizona.The L&D Specialist is responsible for supporting training operations with a specialized knowledge of the I/DD programs offered by Copa Health. The L&D specialist works closely with department leadership to ensure that all new hire and ongoing training needs are provided to direct care providers in a timely and efficient manner. The L&D Specialist acts as an example for how services are provided to our members and must therefore represent Copa Health’s core values of: People First, Compassion, Integrity, Perseverance, Accountability, and Innovation. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High School education required. Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counselling, human resources/business, or another related field highly preferred.
Experience:
- At least two (2) years’ experience providing full-time, professional direct care to people with developmental/intellectual disabilities is required.
Licenses, Certifications, Etc.:
- Proof of previous completion of CPR/First Aid, Article 9, Prevention and Support training.
- Successfully pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Must have an active and valid driver’s license that meets agency driver eligibility requirements.
JOB SUMMARY (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
- Facilitation of both classroom and virtual training including prevention and support, article 9, passenger safety, medication safety, Abuse & Neglect, CPR/FA as well as others in accordance with DDD and licensing requirements. Conducting training will account for more than 50% of this role.
- Creates training content by conducting needs assessments, working with subject matter experts, and using presentation authoring programs to design and develop presentations, handouts, and activities.
- Prepares for all aspects of virtual training including sending zoom invites, virtual handouts, monitoring enrollment and ensuring that all employees are able to access their scheduled training with the appropriate technology.
- Assists employees with minor technical support for Zoom, Relias, and other systems.
- Manages the training calendar to ensure that scheduling is provided in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepares for all aspects of live training including scheduling, space preparation, material preparation, and evaluation administration.
- Assists with the administration of our LMS including data entry and reporting.
- Communicates with employees and supervisors to provide direction, support, and education regarding training requirements and use of the learning management software.
- Provides feedback to supervisors of new hires and the HR department to ensure open communication between teams of potential needs and concerns.
- Collaborates with program leadership to ensure that training compliance is maintained, and that licensing specific non-compliance is communicated to HR leadership.
- Coordinates with the HR records department to ensure accurate training data is available for potential audits.
- Administers evaluations and provides reports to HR leadership for use in developing initiatives.
