Data Center Position Optimization – Infrastructure Technical Program Manager

The Data Center Delivery Business Operations team is seeking a highly-skilled & driven Technical Program Manager who will help drive the team toward our mission of building durable and reliable data-informed processes within AWS Infrastructure. The ideal candidate has experience managing global Infrastructure projects/programs; developing, monitoring, and reporting project/program health metrics; collaborating with cross-functional teams; implementing change management plans; and driving down racks on hold. As a Technical Program Manager within this team focused on global racks on hold, you will be responsible for organizing and managing continuous improvement and process initiatives and play a significant role in developing, driving and managing scalable, data-driven processes.

The primary responsibilities from the Technical Program Manager include, but are not limited to, the following: – planning, execution, and delivery tasks of multiple project/programs simultaneously.

Determine process health metrics and key performance indicators and develop data visualization reports illustrating process health.

Identify process improvement opportunities and gather user requirements with key internal customers.

Implement scalable, data-driven process improvement/automated solutions.

Develop standard operating procedures, change/communication plans, and project/program-level status updates.

Help drive adoption with internal customers through effective change management.

Anticipate potential issues and risks, and escalate appropriately and in a timely manner.

Remain flexible to changing priorities and open to new ideas.

Keep the customer experience as the primary focus.

A day in the life

As a technical program manager, you work closely with key stakeholders across various partner organizations and your team to develop and implement strategic initiatives and solutions. You will participate in the design, implementation, and deployment of successful large-scale programs and initiatives. You will define metrics and create success criteria allowing data to drive key business decisions and process improvements. You will participate in the definition of secure, scalable, and reliable solutions. You define mechanisms that help your team deliver results for customers and raise the operational bar.

Within AWS Data Center Planning and Delivery (DCPD), the Data Center Position Optimization (DCPO) team is responsible for performing business critical functions and driving strategic initiatives that ensure the successful hand off of usable positions to never constrain the business. The team provides accurate information and on-time delivery to our customers, builds comprehensive processes to ensure quality, and maintains high standards to eliminate defects, investigate and define problems that cross multiple organizations’ scope. We challenge the status quo, organizing the right stakeholders to develop and implement both short- and long-term solutions via process optimization and automation, accelerate the growth of the organization through adaptation, innovation and scalable solutions. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications – Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields.

3+ years of experience in program management, project management, or similar business experience in large-scale, complex environments. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience using Microsoft Office Suite

Experience in SQL

Experience in Tableau

Experience in Data Center Planning, Delivery, and/or Operations

Experience in Critical Path Method for Project Management

Experience in Earned Value Management for Infrastructure Projects

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $87,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
