Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting, the Senior Accountant, Corporate Accounting is responsible for assisting with Corporate Accounting processes to account for transactions in accordance with US GAAP and track these transactions for internal and external reporting purposes.

What you will be working on:

  • General Ledger
    • Prepare/review month-end close procedures for select account reconciliations, including corporate assets and liabilities.
    • Prepare acquisition summary.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Involvement in the accumulation of data and preparation of schedules that support SEC financial reporting financials and footnotes.
    • Preparation and reconciliation of the quarterly acquisition summary with the Portfolio Acquisitions department.
    • Preparation of applicable reports for quarterly financial statements, as assigned.
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Perform fluctuation and variance analysis on select corporate asset, liability and expense accounts.
    • Perform ad-hoc projects, as necessary.
    • Working with Accounting Management daily to initiate and record key transactions in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
    • Working with the Legal and Portfolio Acquisitions departments to accurately report acquisitions.
    • Frequently working with external auditors to comply with SEC and SOX internal audit requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Accounting/Finance.
  • 3+ years previous experience in industry or public accounting.
  • Clear and thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP.
  • Strong financial acumen and knowledge of financial statements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet public company reporting deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent PC skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Big 4 or National Audit Firm Experience.
  • Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Real Estate industry experience.
  • 3+ years previous experience in industry or public accounting.
  • Clear and thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP.

What you will get in return:

The base salary for this role is in the range of $77,997 – $107,204. You may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and an annual discretionary stock award, (dependent on date of hire) to be discussed during the initial phone interview. Base salary and total compensation package determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, education, skills, performance, and abilities, as well as internal equity, company performance, and alignment with market data.
