Are you the next operator we’re looking for? The press operator is responsible for processing coils through press to create slugs, including constant quality checks.
Essential Job Functions/Duties:
- Place coil on uncoiler and prepare for running.
- Remove scrap coil from upcoiler and place on drip pan.
- Must be able to recognize quality problems when doing quality checks and make minor adjustments.
- Maintain good housekeeping through out the shift, and do cleaning at the end of the shift.
- Maintain standard practice sheets by file when finished.
- Be on the production floor no later than ten minutes before the beginning of the 12 hour shift.
- Communication with the previous shift’s operator to assure a smooth transition from shift to shift, and to keep the press running.
- Any other tasks assigned by management including; assisting management in the training of new employees and the maintenance of a clean and organized work area.

- Regular, consistent and on-time attendance is required.
- Assure that labels are accurate and for the order currently on the line.
- Place labels on appropriate boxes.
- Complete slug order by finishing slugs according to specs (using vibratory tumbler or blaster).
- Do weight check of boxes once product is in place.
- Seal boxes and pack skids.
- Identify N/C product and advise supervisor immediately. Communicate with previous packers to assure a smooth transition from the previous shift
- Communicate with other packers, supervisors and operator to assure that clean downs are done in a timely manner.
- Make certain that packed boxes are labeled correctly, have the correct amount of weight packed and that they are stacked on the skid correctly.
- Communicate with Supervisor to ensure that inability of packing station to keep up with press output can be addressed
Minimal Requirements to be considered for the role:
- Safety-First mindset and adherence to all Personal Protective Equipment Guidelines.
- High School Diploma or education equivalent required.
- 1 years manufacturing experience required.
- Leadership skills, an asset.
- Mechanically inclined recommended.
- Ability to work in hot and cold conditions.
- Team oriented mindset and able to work well with others.
- Must be able to operate power equipment and power tools.
- Can perform physically rigorous task

Compensation & Benefits
– Hiring Salary Range: $22.90/Hour (eligible for increase after 6 months)
