The Opportunity
The Data Science team at AT&T strives to lead transformation through data-driven decisions advancing the customer experience and businesses around the world. With access to one of the largest data sets available, we enable the discovery and development of meaningful insights that inspire continuous innovation. We are seeking an experienced self-driven software engineer who is comfortable being part of a small skunk works team responsible for building, designing, and end-to-end ownership of a scalable software product tasked to deliver intelligent data driven products.
As a Sr. Big Data Software Engineer, you will:
- Produce batch and real time data pipelines for our network and NLP based use cases for our data scientists and other developers.
- Develop deep domain expertise and opportunities to expand your role into additional facets of data insights including modeling, extensive cloud-based environment architecting, and software development.
- Analyze, design, program, debug and modify software enhancements and/or new products used in distributed, large-scale analytics and visualization solutions.
- Interact with data scientists and industry experts to understand how data needs to be converted, loaded and presented.
- Work in a highly agile environment.
- Aggregate multiple disparate datasets to create datasets for modelling and feature creation consumption.
- Be responsible for the development of high performance, scalable, distributed computing tasks using Linux/Unix, Spark, Pandas, Databricks, Snowflake, Scala, Python and other distributed environment technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Scientific Computing preferred.
- Requires 5 – 8 years of related experience
- Hands on experience using Python, Scala, Linux/Unix, Spark, Pandas, Databricks, Snowflake, SQL, and popular back-end frameworks.
- Experience with Azure cloud services.
- Working knowledge in Internet Protocol and 3GPP 5G Standards are a plus
- Strong communication skills – communicating with all levels of management, understanding business requirements, and defining project roadmaps.
Our Sr. Big Data Software Engineers earn between $128,400 – $192,600 not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
