Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for leading the development, rollout, and management of Intermodal technology solutions for BNSF Intermodal Hubs. Solutions include but are not limited to Terminal Operating Systems, Remote Crane Operations, Automated Yard Check, etc.
  • Support day-to-day operations and ensure high availability of current Intermodal applications.
  • Work with the Hub Operations team to design and manage system enhancements.
  • Manage and escalate issues as necessary to the stakeholders and support teams
  • Must have 10-plus years of managing, deploying, and supporting enterprise software solutions
  • Must be able to manage significant workload, including weekend travel to BNSF intermodal Hubs in support of software rollouts
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams through all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle, while delivering solutions on time, within budget, and compliant with mandated standards and practices
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication with field operators, business stakeholders, and all levels of management
  • Experience working with external consultants and suppliers of products, preferably in technology fields.
  • Proven ability to partner with customers to identify and implement technology solutions
  • Must be able to adjust readily to multiple demands and shifting priorities.
  • Proven ability to enhance and transform processes through automation

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with preference in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or Business, AND/OR relevant equivalent formal training or work experience.
  • Has greater than 10 years work experience in an Information Technology environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree
  • Experience with software development, managing, administration, and rollout of Terminal Operating Systems for a Railroad
  • Familiarity with Tideworks or Oasis Terminal Operating Systems
  • Experience with software quality management practices, including hands-on experience developing and executing test cases
  • Project management experience
