We are looking for a Senior UX Engineer for the Employee Experience team who will be responsible for building high-engaging user experiences that span horizontally across the Viva ecosystem. Responsibilities:
- Contribute to a healthy, diverse, and inclusive culture while collaborating with our engineering team and partners.
- Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to understand requirements for your features.
- Drive identification of dependencies and the development of design documents.
- Provide technical leadership for developing web user experiences, component libraries and backend services.
- Lead and participate in design discussions and code reviews.
- Implement, optimize, debug, refactor, and reuse code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
- Help mentor and coach team members.
- Collaborate with Partner Engineering Teams and drive technical strategy and alignment to make the product successful from the start.
- Ensure appropriate level of instrumentation, observability, alerts and monitoring for the systems.
- Provide thought leadership to the team on service security, compliance, privacy and accessibility.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production code
- OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Graphic Design, Product Design, Visual Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 3+ years experience working in product or service design and/or shipping production code
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong technical abilities around software design, coding, debugging, and problem solving
- Excellent verbal, written and cross-group collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work on cross-platform code
- Commitment to deliver the best experience for customers
- Experience architecting, building, and maintaining complex user experiences and UX component libraries and backend services.
- Practical experience with the tradeoffs of using different user experience, state management and service/data access technologies.
- Experience in web frontend and backend technologies. Including HTML, CSS, JavaScript or TypeScript, and React or equivalent web component frameworks as well as server side languages such as C# and Java.
UX Engineering IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 – $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 – $238,600 per year.
