Learning & Development, Senior Associate – Business Cards & Payments (Remote-Eligible)

The Learning & Development Senior Associate is part of the Learning & Development Team and is aligned directly to support our internal and field sales teams in Business Cards & Payments (Small Business Card and Commercial Card).

You will work with a team of highly professional Learning & Development Associates to design, develop, facilitate, and manage learning initiatives. You will manage the design, development, coordination and/or implementation of ongoing sales training programs and curriculum. Utilize subject matter experts to identify and proactively address the need to upskill, reskill and identify the learning gap opportunities that will ultimately increase the overall effectiveness of the Business Cards & Payments Field teams and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Includes, empowers and inspires the team through strong critical thinking skills
  • Collaborates with teammates and key stakeholders to design and implement training strategies and programs that will proactively improve the effectiveness of the sales teams, processes and customer interactions
  • Designs and develops curriculum, programs, learning materials and performance support tools based on industry design standards for a given modality (includes web, e-Learning, and video design)
  • Responsible for developing content, including (but not limited to) measurable learning objectives, leaders and participant materials and tools, experiential scenarios and simulations, assessment and evaluation questions
  • Proficient use of multiple rapid development content tools to create online courseware
  • Designs training solutions that demonstrate an understanding of adult learning principles and leverage current learning trends, including gamification and rich media (example: video) to enhance the learner experience
  • Manages project timelines, content development, training delivery and facilitation within the team
  • Supports and conducts on-site facilitation and/or delivery of training programs
  • Continuously seeks feedback, ideas and suggestions to improve training effectiveness, training policies and new training initiatives
  • Travel as needed (up to 10% at times) to other company locations for meeting and training purposes
  • Assists Learning Managers by identifying issues, diagnosing problems, generating alternative solutions, and analyzing opportunities and risks
  • Creates compelling communications to internal stakeholders

Basic Qualifications :

  • At least 3 years of experience in corporate learning and development
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting sales teams
  • At least 1 year of experience creating videos, podcasts, or e-learning experiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • 4+ years experience in Instructional Design or Adult Education
  • 2+ year experience in Leadership training and development
  • 2+ years of financial industry experience with a focus on Small or Commercial Businesses
  • 2+ years of experience using Articulate 360, Camtasia, or Captivate

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Location is New York City: $99,500 – $113,600 for Sr. Project Manager

Location is San Francisco, California: $105,400 – $120,300 for Sr. Project Manager

Remote roles in other areas of New York & California, and across Colorado & Washington: $84,300 – $96,200 for Sr. Project Manager

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
