Mission and Scope:
Enphase is one of the fastest growing global companies in the cleantech and smart home energy system markets, with a revenue of more than USD 1.3 billion in 2021. Enphase’s Ensemble system combines solar micro-inverters, energy storage, smart controls and software to provide reliable and affordable clean energies, as well as creating economic values, to home-owners. Energy storage is the key component of the Ensemble eco-system, and Enphase is aggressively expanding its energy storage product offerings in different geographies. In line with this effort, the Storage Product Line Management team is actively searching for a top talent who is familiar with energy storage systems and related products, to play a key role in this process.
The Senior Product Line Manager will take total ownership of assigned products in order to grow company profitability. Typical scope of the responsibilities includes, but not limited to, working together with compliance, codes and standards, sales, marketing, operations, engineering, technology, field service, Product Line Management co-workers and other teams in the North America in defining, developing, introduction, sustaining and retiring assigned energy storage product lines. Particular contributions are expected in synthesizing codes and standards compliance themes, and providing advice to engineering teams in the product development and introduction phases. It will report to the Senior Director of Storage Product Line Management, and will mentor junior team members in different capacities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Collaborate with compliance, codes & standards, environmental safety, engineering and other teams to:
- Survey trends in codes & standards, incentive programs, customers requirements, supplier and partner offerings, test institution capabilities in North America
- Provide guidance to the creating and updating of market requirement documents, electrical requirement documents, system requirement documents, etc for energy storage products to other Product Line Management co-workers and engineers
- Provide guidance in prototype design and evaluations; participate in daily product development, certifications, test and application activities
- Participate in product documents, codes and compliance notes, application notes, product safety documents, marketing collaterals, sales pitch materials, legal documents creating;
- Provide guidance in product safe handling, storing and disposing to operations, sales, marketing, engineering, field service, legal teams
- Propose new product concepts based on new business cases, codes & standards for North America
- Mentor junior Product Line Management members either in advisory, indirect management or direct management capacities
- Be an authority of the assigned product areas who can provide expert advice to management
- Fulfill other scheduled or unscheduled tasks as assigned
What You Need
- An engineering (electrical, mechanical, materials) or science (computer, physics) MSc degree, or a MBa degree with a BSc degree in engineering or science
- > 10 years of Product Line Management, compliance, engineering, certification, test experience in the battery, energy storage systems, inverter, control systems, power electronics or electrical systems business
- Familiar with at least some of North America energy storage systems codes & standards, including UL, IEC, IEEE, EMI, ICES, UN, NIST, etc
- Familiar with local listing, registration and jurisdiction requirements, such as CEC, SGIP, JA12, NEC, etc
- Familiar with architecture, battery management and control systems, system controllers, gateway, firmware, battery performance monitoring and diagnostics platforms
- Proficient with collaborative tools like Jira, Confluence, Arena, Jama, etc.
- Strong sense of ownership and urgency on assigned tasks
- Strong work ethics, team player, communicator, business acumen, analytical skills and pro-active attitude
Things that Make a Difference
- Direct product certification, development, testing or product management experience of residential energy storage systems for the North America markets
- Experience working for, or with, Nationally Recognized Test Labs, certification organizations (e.g. UL, Intertek, CSA, TUV, VDE, etc), listing or registration organizations (e.g. CEC, etc)
- Familiar with residential energy storage systems market landscape in the North America
Salary scale: $115,000 – $205,000 annually
