Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Metrology Supervisor II will be responsible for leading and developing a team of approximately 12 technicians and administrative team members. Supervises the planning, scheduling, and completion of all Metrology work performed in assigned area to insure maximum uptime of equipment; oversees the activities of the technicians assigned to work areas in a manner to assure compliance with company and federal regulatory agency guidelines; maintains planned work schedules and handles emergency work resulting from rendering of required services; manages work order system within area of responsibility; ensures necessary inventories of equipment and supplies are available; lead and write instrument investigations; review and approve calibration events/records to meet all regulatory and user requirements; ensure calibration activities for all new equipment are performed in accordance with a set schedule and standard operating procedures to ensure projects are able to meet timelines.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Supervises employees, tasks and duties related to quality control within organization.
  • Develops, implements and assesses processes and policies designed to test products and services.
  • Monitors and evaluates current testing processes, making recommendations for improvements when necessary.
  • Enforces regulatory compliance.
  • Conducts visual and physical inspections of company products and materials.
  • Monitors the performance of the metrology staff, ensuring that the metrology department meets organizational objectives.

Expertise: Knowledge & Skills

  • Requires advanced knowledge of professional field and industry. Influences the development of and drives the application of principles, theories, concepts. Determines best course of action.
  • Provides direct or supervision to a group of employees, assigning tasks and checking work at frequent intervals. Accountabilities include work and people scheduling, performance management and recommendations for hiring decisions.
  • Judgement is required in resolving complex problems based on experience.
  • Contacts are primarily with department supervisors, leads, subordinates, and peers. Frequent contact with external contractors/vendors.

Preferred experience:

  • P.M.E.L training (Precision, Measurement, Equipment, Laboratory).
  • T.M.D.E training (Test, Measurement & Diagnostic, Equipment).
  • Pharmaceutical and GMP experience.

Target Based Range

$95,360 – $119,200

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 06-08 years related experience required.
  • Occasional business travel required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
