Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant is responsible for timely delivery of account analysis of the Company’s European portfolio entities.
What you’ll be working on day to day:
General Ledger and Financial Analysis
- Perform month-end close procedures to meet Company’s reporting deadline for consolidated US GAAP financials of applicable European countries.
- Prepare accounting workpapers and journal entries, investigate and reconcile discrepancies based on materiality thresholds.
- Work with project manager and international team members to set up and implement new European countries in Yardi Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Gain an understanding of accounting and local tax requirements in applicable European countries.
- Provide assistance to 3rd party AR/AP/PM service provider(s) with accounting matters for the designated European portfolios.
- Monitor accounting transactions to be in compliance with US GAAP.
- Collaborate with Property Management and Finance Operations teams to provide meaningful fluctuation analysis on European portfolios.
External/Internal Audit
- Assist in internal/external audits and the walk through of internal controls.
- Document accounting processes.
Other
- Contribute to improvement, efficiency and scalability of current processes and workpapers.
- Evaluate applicable procedures for new countries and recommend changes where appropriate.
- Assist in the implementation and testing of new Yardi modules and upgrades when needed.
- Coordinate work with work of other staff/senior accountants.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have a strong working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet public company reporting deadlines.
- Must be organized, detailed, flexible, efficient and take ownership of own work product.
- Strong analytical abilities. Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Ability to handle large volumes of data.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience. Public accounting (audit) experience or Real estate industry experience is highly preferred.
Certificates, licenses or registrations:
- Certified Public Accountant license highly preferred.
The base salary for this role is in the range of $72,945 to $102,639. You may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and an annual discretionary stock award, (dependent on date of hire) to be discussed during the initial phone interview. Base salary and total compensation package determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, education, skills, performance, and abilities, as well as internal equity, company performance, and alignment with market data.
