What is API Access?
Travelport is a marketplace of travel content, and we provide the technology that allows travel suppliers like airlines, hotels, car, and rail to connect to companies who sell travel content to consumers. The demand side of our marketplace are travel agencies and 3rd party developer applications that search, book, ticket, and service travel itineraries for the suppliers. The supply side of our marketplace consumes travel content from our suppliers and makes it available to the agencies. Travelport uses complex computer systems to consume and produce travel content via a set of high performing APIs which our customers access to solve real world travel problems.
What does a great Product Manager do?
The Product Manager (PM) sits within the Product Organization and is responsible for identifying customer needs, prioritizing features, guiding the work through Lean product management and developing and executing on the product vision and roadmap. It is the PM’s responsibility to identify customer needs to articulate value propositions that will drive the vision and direction to the delivery teams, providing value, feature prioritization, requirements and feature-level acceptance criteria.
This PM role will be responsible for helping define and execute Travelport’s Retailing strategy and roadmap for our JSON API product. JSON API is a next-generation API powering our travel agent customers’ connections to Travelport’s search & booking systems as well as our own Agent UI product, Smartpoint Cloud.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage the prioritization and execution of the product roadmap and construct requisite features and market releases for JSON API Reservation
- Align with internal stakeholders to support the Business Strategy and help drive the value for our customers
- Synchronize with Product Owners to ensure features, capabilities and defects are organized and prioritized appropriately
- Communicate with customers to develop a solid understanding of their needs and business processes, as well as to share product vision and actively pursue feedback
- Track and report on product status and metrics
Who we are looking for in this role:
- Experience working in product, consultancy, business analysis or technology development
- Familiarity with JSON/REST-based APIs
- Solid understanding of the Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC), Product Management principles, methodologies and tools (ie: Jira, Aha!) in a SAFe/Lean Agile environment
- Ability to communicate a vision and bring a virtual team of individuals together to achieve goals across diverse functional areas (eg product, technology, customer)
- Communicate effectively on the purpose and vision of the product roadmap to the wider delivery team including their role in delivering or contributing to the business outcomes
- Capacity to seek consensus and agreement across multiple stakeholders, bringing diverse opinions together in reaching a solution
- Change management and conflict resolution skills
- Travel industry experience a plus

Salary Target: $95,000-$105,000
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
