As we continue to expand our services, we are looking for a talented and experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team and ensure the highest level of security for our robots, cloud infrastructure, and partner integrations.
[Responsibilities and Duties]
As a Senior Software Engineer focused on Cybersecurity at Bear Robotics, your primary responsibility will be to safeguard our software systems, robot devices, and cloud infrastructure from potential security threats. Key responsibilities include:
- Perform audits of existing assets in GCP and ensure compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Secure communication between robots and the cloud, as well as within local networks, using appropriate encryption and authentication methods.
- Implement and maintain intrusion detection and response systems to proactively identify and mitigate security incidents.
- Conduct penetration testing and simulated phishing attacks to assess and improve the overall security posture of the organization.
- Establish, enforce, and continuously improve security processes and policies, including access control, data protection, and incident response.
- Evaluate and integrate security tools and online services to enhance the security of our systems and infrastructure.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest security news and trends to identify and mitigate potential zero-day attacks.
- (Optional) Collaborate with engineering teams in designing secure APIs and other software components.
[Qualifications]
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- minimum of 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles with a Bachelor’s degree, or 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles without a degree.
- Proficient in Python and familiar with distributed computing and IoT/device security.
- Strong understanding of Linux system configurations, web server (e.g., Nginx) configurations, and common web application attacks (e.g., CSRF).
- Knowledge of encryption, hashing, and underlying security technologies.
- Experience with security compliance and auditing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and address complex security issues.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to operate independently and educate others on security best practices.
