The Director Strategic Initiatives Bakery/Deli position will be hybrid and could be based in any of our division office locations.

What you will be doing

Our Director of Strategic initiatives will be leading development, innovation, and strategic plans for Bakery and Deli. The successful candidate will help the GVP implement new “rhythm of the business” and operations in the team and help the organization be agile.

Main responsibilities

The Fresh Merchandising department is responsible for creating world-class customer experience and driving revenue and growth with our customers.

The salary range is $118,100.00 to $165,900.00 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked) or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position are also eligible for a quarterly bonus.

What we are searching for

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage strategic and internal programs, demonstrate a sense of urgency and ownership to drive programs and projects to completion and be successful in a collaborative environment.
  • Research issues and business problems and write deep dives, artifacts and white papers for the GVP to influence the broader company leadership towards long term growth and transformation.
  • Plan and conduct kickoff meetings; define scope; develop detailed baseline project plans; track and manage programs and projects to successful completion; communicate status, issues and risks to project stakeholders; provide leadership to cross-functional project teams and maintain project documentation.

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in directly relevant senior roles in business and business strategy, program/project management, product development, business planning and operations, and/or productivity (agile, lean or six sigma) workflow and support, preferably with combined experience in brick & mortar as well as in a digital environment omnichannel.
  • BA/BS degree is required with preference for degrees in Business, or related fields. MBA is a plus.
  • Travel requirements 25- 35% travel as needed.
