Job Summary

Day-to-day oversight of Trading Operations Risk function, including build-out, implementation and oversight of automation associated with Pricing process, Confirms process, and relevant internal and external reporting and compliance monitoring processes

  • Manage energy commodity pricing processes, and oversight of maintenance of data feeds from Morningstar Commodity Data
  • Management of interfaces (ICE eConfirm, Clearing Brokers, etc.), and build-out of process automation
  • Support Manager, Trading Operations Risk on all aspects of business side ownership of Aligne ETRM (Energy-Trading-and-Risk-Management) application, oversight of access, management of overall configuration (oversight of management of markets, formulas, global variables), including facilitating communication between business side stakeholders (ER&T, Risk, Accounting) and IT as necessary
  • Key responsibility for ensuring top level performance of ERM’s Confirmation and Valuation function SOX controls which are necessary to ensure accurate valuation of PSEG ER&T’s portfolio of hedge transactions (approximately ~$2 billion notional)

Job Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day oversight of trading confirmations processes, interfaces (ICE eConfirm, Clearing Brokers, etc.), including lead responsibility for driving design and build-out of process automation
  • Management of energy commodity pricing processes for all power, natural gas, and capacity forward curves and spot prices, including lead responsibility for build-out of potential additional automation of data feeds, and quality assurance checks
  • Manage build-out and support of automated Aligne reporting functionality for ER&T and market risk position reports and P&L reports, other reports as necessary
  • Key responsibility for ensuring top level performance of ERM’s Confirmation and Valuation function SOX controls which are necessary to ensure accurate valuation of PSEG ER&T’s portfolio of hedge transactions (approximately ~$2 billion notional)
  • anagement of Aligne ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) system access, creation and management of markets, creation and management of formulas, creation and management of trade templates, etc.
  • Day-to-day oversight and monthly reporting on compliance monitoring of ER&T internal limits such as OTL Over-The-Limit reports, late trade reports, etc.

Job Specific Qualifications

  • 7 years experience energy, commodities or related
  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of physical and financial derivative, valuation (forwards, futures, swaps, options), (preferably energy, commodities related)
  • Experience with trade capture, or Trading Risk Management (TRM) systems, or similar
  • Ability to design analyses on large data sets, implement data reporting processes
  • Ability to advocate for business user needs in technical conversations with IT regarding trade capture, Trading and Risk Management (TRM) functionality
  • Ability to design, oversee implementation of optimal control processes, data flows
  • Understanding of SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) controls, ability to design SOX processes
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) proficiency, Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent process and project management skills

Desired:

  • ETRM (Energy-Trading-and-Risk-Management) system expertise
  • Strong knowledge of energy commodity products, wholesale energy markets, power, natural gas, etc.,
  • Post graduate degree
  • Experience with Aligne ETRM or equivalent ETRM system
  • Ability to leverage Aligne ETRM reporting functionality to build customized reports, report batches to be used in automated reporting
  • Energy commodity data, software experience
  • Subject matter expert knowledge of energy commodity markets, specifically power, natural gas
  • Coding skills in SQL, VBA, JavaScript, R, Matlab or similar
  • Experience managing SOX controls
