Position Description:

Are you motivated by the opportunity to delight your clients by providing them with innovative solutions to complex technical problems? CGI is actively seeking an Azure Synapse (Azure SQL Data Warehouse) analyst to join in the fast paced world of Federal ERP consulting. Candidates will be a key member of our Data Warehousing/Data Reporting team, supporting Azure Synapse and Data lake constructs to true data analytic capabilities to our clients. The overall program will retire the agency’s existing legacy system and replace it with CGI’s Momentum solution for federal financial management and acquisitions. We take an innovative and collaborative approach to supporting our client, working in a dynamic environment using emerging data and analytics technologies and agile methodologies. You will be interacting with a dynamic team of people, with opportunities to learn and grow as you help deliver the overall solution for a very large Federal government organization.
• Provide expertise with Azure Synapse / Azure SQL Data Warehouse with server-less SQL pools to develop table structures to replicate data from an Oracle Data Source.
• Support the design and development of Azure Data Warehouse and Synapse data solutions for data modeling and warehousing, data integration, and analytics.
• Tune Synapse database for large data volumes and queries/reports on large data volume.
• Work with stakeholders on overall design of data model and data governance of the solution and related components.
• Research, analyze, and help implement technical approaches for solving challenging and complex development and integration problems, providing a strategy and roadmap.
• Collaborate in developing and maintaining a knowledge base of best practices and delivery templates to standardize sales and delivery efforts
• Create and deliver presentations and/or learning sessions on BI solutions, for end users and development teams
Required
• Bachelors degree and 10 overall related work experience
• 2+ years of experience with data engineering/data warehousing
• 2+ years of real-world experience implementing Azure analytics platforms for client projects
• Implementation and Operational support of:
o Azure Synapse Analytics
o Microsoft Transact-SQL
o Azure Data Factory (ADF),
o Power BI Data Models,
o Data Lake design patterns
• Experience with Reporting from Financial Management and ERP systems
• Strong knowledge of database, storage, collection, and aggregation models, techniques, and technologies and how to apply them in business.
• Good experience with SSIS, and experience with Azure Data Factory
• Working experience with version control platforms
• Working knowledge of agile development including DevOps concepts
• Experience in gathering and analyzing system requirements
• Proven analytical skills and Problem-solving attitude
• Ability to effectively function in a cross-team environment
Desired:
• Experience with other Large Data Warehouse Tools (e.g., SAP HANA) and Data Visualization Tools (e.g., Tableau)
• Experience in Federal Government Financial Management Reporting
Experience with ERP data concepts

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $106000 – $209,000.”
