Department Overview
The Electric Safety and Quality Management (ESQM) department provides safety and quality oversight for Electric Power Generation, Transmission, Substation and Distribution. The Safety Program Management Office (PMO) partners with the Enterprise Health and Safety (EH&S) team to provide strategic guidance to improve our safety culture and performance. The ES&QM program implements an integrated strategic audit approach concentrating on key company focus areas that are a function of risk, regulatory impacts, compliance maturity model attributes, key regulatory issues, and line of business requests.
Position Summary
Manages aspects of program development, implementation, and operations, focused on providing safety support for Electric Functional Division leaders in alignment with the PG&E Safety Excellence Management System (PSEMS). Oversees administration of projects requiring advanced organizational skills, critical thinking skills, a background in project management, Electric Operations, Lean Implementation and safety. Collaborate with Electric Functional Division leaders, key stakeholders, EH&S partners, and applicable subject matter experts (SMEs).
Supports Electric Operations achieve safety excellence by:
- Developing, measuring and reporting on success of programs managed
- Identifying and maintaining strong working relationships with all strategic programs and partners
- Identifying stakeholders and communicate within and outside of PG&E
- Developing and/or implementing policies and procedures
- Identifying new partners, technologies, and delivery channels
- Recognized subject matter expert providing guidance and counsel to EO leadership on subject of expertise
- Coaches and mentors less experienced employees
- Solves unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions
- Demonstrates strategic leadership with internal stakeholders to support EO and company goals
- Leads development of program goals and metrics to meet EO and company goals and objectives
- Collaborates across the organization to ensure alignment of goals to support the program
- Responsible for utilizing other departments and teams to meet program goals
- Organizes and leads project teams to influence safety program direction and decisions
- Develops or provides significant input to PG&E leadership
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although, we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Annual Minimum: $118,000.00
Annual Maximum: $188,000.00

Qualifications
Minimum:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in business
- Eight (8) years of related experience or equivalent
Desired:
- Master’s Degree in job-related discipline
- PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification
- Two years professional experience in Safety
- 10 years of related experience or equivalent
- Ability to use understanding of the business to help drive strategic decision making, and to recommend operational improvements
- Ability to lead the largest most complex projects across the Electric line of business.
- Deep knowledge and expertise of business and or industry drivers
- Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams
- Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs
- Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact
- Experience working with vendors and supply chain
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
- American Society of Quality Certification (Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor, or CMQ-OE)
- Strong analytical problem solving and decision-making ability
- Strong Communication and Presentation Skills
