We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our team and provide legal advice and counsel on human rights law across our work to use data and technology to advance fundamental rights. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the legal landscape and a commitment to providing excellent legal services.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and counsel on human rights law across topics including non-discrimination; right to privacy, liberty, peaceful assembly, freedom of thought, conscience, religion, opinion, expression, and association; right to vote; labor; and other topics that arise in the context of business and human rights.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents.
  • Research and analyze legal issues and provide sound legal advice.
  • Monitor legal developments and advise management on changes and trends in the law.
  • Manage outside counsel and other legal resources.
  • Develop and implement legal policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate Degree or Equivalent International Degree
    • OR Completion of a Legal Apprenticeship.
  • Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction.
  • 3+ years experience as a practicing attorney
    • OR equivalent practice of law.
  • 2+ years of experience in human rights law and corporate responsibility
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Legal Counsel IC3 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $101,200 – $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $130,000 – $213,200 per year.
