Insight Global is currently seeking an Industrial Engineer for a direct hire opportunity supporting an expanding production facility in Fairfield, Ohio. This individual will support a growing department such as operations, quality, maintenance, engineering, and management to ensure alignment of goals and expectations while focusing on improving facility efficiency and supporting plant expansion. As an industrial engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new or improved production layouts, workflows, equipment, tools, and methods. You will also collaborate with other engineers and technicians to solve emerging issues and improve our processes. To be successful in this role, you should have a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a related field, and at least three years of experience in the industry. Experience developing and maintaining standard operating procedures, work instructions, process maps and other documentation. The Industrial Engineer should also have excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, as well as a commitment to quality and safety. They should be able to work independently and manage multiple projects within deadlines. It can be expected that 50% of the time this engineer will be out in the plant interacting with technicians, tradesmen, and operators to understand project needs. This Engineer is expected to be able to support continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing, kaizen, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis and conduct time studies, capacity analysis, material flow analysis, simulation and other engineering techniques to evaluate and improve production performance. Ideally, we are looking for an organized, self-driven problem solver to join the organization to support both day-to-day operations and specialty projects. Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.)
3+ years of experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering
Experience in an industrial, production, manufacturing, or food processing environment
Strong organizational skills
Great written and verbal communication
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Strong understanding of high voltage
Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD and other engineering software tools.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Graduated from strong engineering school — Purdue, OSU, Miami University, Georgia Tech, Rose-Hulman
