Operations Intern

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

This position will be exposed to a broad spectrum of Operational roles including Purchasing, Planning and Quality.

Some specific elements of the supply chain including, but not limited to PO placement, supplier management, and follow-up, FAR/DFAR requirements, sourcing, pricing, compliance, logistics, and KPI management. The Operations Intern will be trained on “where to look” for exceptions for mitigating supply chain risks. In addition, The Operations Intern may be asked to perform other administrative duties.

Perform various clerical tasks and provide administrative and staff support to the Quality department. Perform copying and scanning of documents into quality data folders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow up with suppliers to ensure the original promise dates of POs will be met.
  • Send RFQs out to suppliers, monitor the progress, and complete the RFQ cycle.
  • Perform duties as assigned by the manager.

EDUCATION:
Must be a US Person: US Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident
Must have completed two years of college courses in Supply Chain, Quality or Business Operations.

Must have excellent customer service demeanor, verbal communication skills
Strong people and team skills. Strong documentation and communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work tasks during shift.
Ability to thrive under pressure and handle multiple projects

COMPUTER SKILLS

Must be able to operate a personal computer and mainframe applications. Must be able to create and work with spreadsheets (Excel), word processing (Word), and presentations (PowerPoint).

Please note that the salary range information is only applicable for California. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, candidate experience, qualifications, location as well as market and business considerations. Pay Range: $21.00 per hour.
