High School Data and Assessment Manager

Reporting to the Network Senior Director of Data and Assessment, the High School Data and Assessment Manager will strategically support the Senior Director in this growth plan through data collection, management, reporting, and analysis. The High School Data and Assessment Manager is responsible for all data and systems, including but not limited to the following areas:

– Programming: Build the master schedule 2x each year, schedule students, manage scheduling requests;

– Promotion/Graduation: Maintain systems to ensure students are on track to promotion in 9th-11th grade, and graduation for 12th grade;

– Grade Entry: Analyze data and create trackers to ensure grading policy is implemented with fidelity;

– Assessments: Act as testing coordinator for PSATs, Midterms, Finals, AP Exams, Regents, and other internal exams.

About our Team

The mission of the DREAM Data Team is to provide staff with the information necessary to improve our work and the lives of youth by creating effective systems for data collection, reporting, and analysis, and building staff capacity to make the best data-driven decisions possible.

The High School Data and Assessment Manager is part of the Network Support Team, and splits time 20/20/60 between home, the central office, and the high school. The requirement for this role is to be in-person at least 4 days/week, and they can work 1 day remotely. A successful data manager balances the work of advancing data infrastructure for the high school with the on the ground, day-to-day programmatic support that running a school entails.

Responsibilities

    • Data Collection & Management
    • Lead the test administration process for all DREAM High School assessments to ensure that testing procedures are routine and include smooth, efficient distribution, administration, and collection of assessments;
    • Collaborate with the Director of Special Education to ensure that all mandated testing accommodations are adhered to for students with disabilities;
    • Print and assemble relevant materials for testing events and data analysis meetings;
    • Oversee assessment tracking timelines to ensure all assessments are created, administered, scored, and scanned in a smooth and efficient manner that allows for timely analysis;
    • Collect and process grades across multiple platforms to create, print and distribute report cards to families;
    • Train and support school-based staff in using data tools and reports in a way that allows them to make effective data-driven decisions.
    • Data Reporting & Analysis
    • Build and maintain data reports and visualizations to display student achievement results and key performance metrics;
    • Provide clean, transformed, analysis-ready data sets to stakeholders, utilizing DREAM’s data stack to model data in a way that empowers end users to answer their own questions;
    • Train and support school-based staff in using data tools and reports for continuous improvement;
    • Administer and analyze internal and external student, staff, and family surveys;
    • Provide additional data reporting and analysis as needed for external accountability, compliance, and teacher evaluation.
    • Data Use
    • Lead data meetings with instructional leadership team to analyze data in a way that allows them to make effective data-driven decisions;
    • Work with external and internal data that identifies schools’/teachers’ achievement strengths and challenges and diagnoses trends;
    • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to implement several strategic initiatives including school expansion, organizational excellence, and social-emotional learning.

Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree in a related field a plus;
    • At least 3 years experience in education and/or operations management;
    • Experience analyzing data with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail;
    • Experience creating data dashboards and visualizations;
    • Adept at distilling and communicating complex concepts to various audiences in a clear and concise manner;
    • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, solutions-focused manner;
    • Skilled in creating and implementing project plans to tackle long-term assignments;
    • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines;
    • Experience with SQL a plus;
    • Familiarity with cloud data warehouse solutions a plus (ex: Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake);
    • Familiarity with data visualization tools a plus (ex: Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, etc).

Compensation

    • DREAM offers a competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience with the potential for an annual performance-based increase. The incoming salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary closer to the start of the range depending on qualifications and internal equity. All staff are eligible for annual performance-based increases.
