Technical Program Manager, PXT Central Science

The People eXperience and Technology Central Science Team (PXTCS) uses economics, behavioral science, statistics, and machine learning to proactively identify mechanisms and process improvements which simultaneously improve Amazon and the lives, wellbeing, and the value of work to Amazonians. We are an interdisciplinary team that combines the talents of science and engineering to develop and deliver solutions that measurably achieve this goal. PXTCS is looking to hire a Technical Program Manager to join our team.

A Technical Program Manager will lead science programs supporting Amazonians globally. This includes developing roadmaps and research proposals, identifying and scoping science and data engineering requirements, interpreting statistical findings and communicating findings to both a technical and non-technical audience, and managing key stakeholder communications including goal updates and program launches.

Key job responsibilities
• Developing and managing research project plans, providing regular communication to key stakeholders.
• Executing large-scale project and change management including stakeholder management and communication.
• Developing the strategic approach to improve and scale science and engineering programs.
• Documenting and communicating results to senior leaders.
• Influencing key stakeholders throughout the evolution of a project or program.
• Interpreting statistical analyses for non-technical audiences.
• Develop strong relationships with and have the ability to influence key stakeholders/partners across diverse roles and levels.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 2+ years of software development experience
  • 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $101,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
