Team Lead Show Control Systems

From Boysenberry Festival to Peanuts Celebration, Merry Farm to Scary Farm, Knott’s is looking for talented individuals with experience in Show Control Systems design and network configuration to join our Entertainment Production Leadership Team.

How You’ll Make A Difference:

  • Lead a team of various skill levels through prep, install, operation, strike of shows and events.
  • Repair and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), as well as a wide variety of electronic field devices such as photo eyes, proximity sensors, limit switches, micro switches, amplifiers, etc. as required
  • Procure and maintain inventory.
  • Develop and adhere to department budgets.
  • Create, maintain, and train staff in show control and video system procedures.
  • Install, clean, repair, and maintain temporary and permanent systems throughout the park.
  • Keep a clean and organized workspace in the shop and on the job-site.
  • Operate electric carts, forklifts, mast lifts, scissor lifts and articulating boom lifts.
  • Adhere to all Cedar Fair, Department, and OSHA safety standards.
  • Work with applicants, employees, contractors, vendors and guests in a positive, productive and professional manner.
  • Ability to work successfully in a group/team.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Hourly range – $31.15/per hour- $38.55/per hour. Standard benefits package including medical, dental, and vision, 401K, vacation, sick, and holiday pay.

We’re Looking For:

This position requires the following education and experience, or an equivalent combination of both:

Education

High School Diploma/GED

Experience

3-5 years of experience with show control systems, programmable logic controllers, and entertainment network
design and configuration, with proficiency in C++, C#, Lua, and HTML

Minimum Age
18 years of age or older

Qualifications:

  • Experience with IP-based distributed audio/video systems, animation audio systems, and closed circuit cameras,
    monitors and recording devices.
  • Solid grasp of the fundamental principles of electronics, including Ohm’s Law, basic AC and DC circuit analysis,
    basic digital logic, and extensive knowledge of common electronic components and their uses.
  • Proficient skills in soldering and general electronic repair.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex systems while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to read and understand a variety of technical documentation including manuals, schematic diagrams, drawings, labels, color-codes, etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits down to the component level.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools required.
  • Available to work nights, weekends and holidays to meet business needs.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy,unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Available to work nights, weekends and holidays to meet business needs.

Certification

CA Driver’s License

Minimum Level 2 Certification in Q-sys and Dante networking.
