Responsibilities
The Patient Support Supervisor is an integral member of the practice leadership team, whose main responsibility is the overall management of Medical Administrative Assistants and Surgical Schedulers. Responsible for the coordination of departmental activities and programs as needed, including but not limited to: calendar management, OR scheduling, change request processes, patient-related matters, Surgical Grand Rounds, and other duties as assigned. Routinely interfaces with various departments to integrate the practice. Ensures the appropriate onboarding and training for new hires, which include developing appropriate training plans with reinforcement of skills for long term employees. Responsible for the enforcement of departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work in an environment with changing priorities and multiple concurrent tasks while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must have previous supervisory experience and demonstrate well-developed leadership and customer service skills. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills along with a thorough knowledge of the Desk system and a detailed understanding of all operational areas. Incumbents in Desk areas must successfully complete a formal Desk Training program prior to obtaining the position, and a Clinic approved medical terminology course either prior to or within the first year of hire.
