Role Overview
Lead a team of jewelry technical experts to achieve the mission of providing industry-leading customer service and excellence in production quality. Promote positivity, teamwork, accountability, and individual development. This role reports to the Assistant Vice President, Operations and is based out of Manhattan, NY.
Responsibilities
- Define workshop short and mid-term strategy, including organizational evolution and resource needs, in collaboration with senior management
- Drive qualitative, timely results for workshop missions. Propose solutions for enhancements and increased efficiency. Achieve or surpass local and international targets and key performance indicators
- Build annual budgets and propose quarterly adjustments based on performance, capacity, and objectives. Monitor all workshop expenses, especially those related to external subcontracting
- Manage working relationships with NY-area subcontractors and evolve the network as necessary. Assist in the definition of skill development and training needs; Collaborate with Director, Jewelry Technical Services to ensure execution. Prepare and administer local subcontractor performance evaluations together with Director, Jewelry Technical Services
- Direct a fully compliant workshop by ensuring the adherence to all Richemont and Van Cleef & Arpels policies, procedures, and audit recommendations, by all team members & external partners
- Develop and present reporting as needed
Qualifications
- A high level of emotional intelligence
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Formal training as a jeweler preferred
- Experience polishing and/or setting preferred
- Minimum seven years’ experience managing a team
- Minimum five years’ experience managing a jewelry workshop
- Ability to lead a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
- Aptitude to work with figures and experience managing a budget
- Excellent organizational and critical reasoning skills
- Great written and verbal presentation skills
- Previous experience working in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to speak French is a plus
- Ability to work 5 days onsite
