A Manufacturing Cost Engineer position is currently available at Belcan Engineering in Indianapolis, IN. This is a direct, full time position with benefits. This position will be a Hybrid schedule and will work at the customer location and work remote. Overall, we are looking for someone with good knowledge of manufacturing processes and an understanding of the aerospace supply chain to support part cost development
Manufacturing Cost Engineer job duties:
* Act as a team member on large and medium size programs and projects, presenting information as needed, and ensuring critical customer needs are met.
* Evaluate cost and provide a value engineering skill set to the cost and affordability team.
* Evaluate the supply chain and provide feedback and solutions to support part cost development.
* Communicate and interact with shop floor personnel, quality/process teams, customer management team, material teams, purchasing teams and other engineers involved in the process.
Core Qualifications:
* BS in Engineering or Supply Chain with exposure in an engineering and machine shop environment
* One or more years of relevant work experience as a manufacturing or supply chain engineer focused on cost
* Experience and working knowledge of manufacturing process, assembly, and fabrication process
* Experience with Cost Reduction, Should Cost, or VAVE
* Computer Savvy with skills creating and updating technical documents, reports, and standards
* Understanding of product engineering concepts and applications.
* Ability to be a self-starter with potential for technical leadership and guidance
* Due to the nature of the work US Citizenship is required
Desired Skills:
* Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of design for manufacturing concepts
* Understanding of Mechanics of Materials and Structural Design
* Proficient use of NX and TEAMCENTER
* Aerospace Industry Experience
