Thrilling Bakon™ is now a top seller in nearly 300 locations across the country, but we’ll never forget our local market roots — and after two years of success at Beaverton Farmer’s Market, we’re expanding our team with part-time Local Market Reps to represent our company there and other local markets, festivals and events. Being vegan yourself is NOT required (but it doesn’t hurt).
Pay starts at $17.50/hr plus 5% commission on all Bakon sold during your shift – and we typically do over $1,000 in sales each day we’re in market, yielding a typical blended rate of at least $25/hr.
We’re currently hiring for at least one shift per week (Beaverton Farmers’ Market), but we’re also actively seeking to expand to other nearby farmers’ markets, local markets, vegan events etc.
To succeed in the role, you will:
- Act as liaison with market staff and health department, managing registration, fees, compliance etc.
- Comply with all health department / food safety requirements for proper handling of product
- Transport, set up and take down our booth at local markets, food festivals, and events
- Cook our delicious Bakon™ on-site and provide samples to customers
- Represent Thrilling Foods in a fun, positive and engaging manner
- Generate relationships with potential customers
- Handle sales transactions and manage inventory
Requirements
- Entrepreneurial with strong sales skills, ability to work independently and solve problems
- Vehicle capable of picking up and transporting our booth, tables, ice, product etc.
- Ability to work well alongside others in serving our customers
- Experience in food sales or customer service is strongly preferred
- Friendly, engaging personality with a passion for great food
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Weekend availability including all Saturdays
