Clinical Affairs Associate I (remote: US)

Compensation: $25-26/hr.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

This a remote role and preferred hours at 8:00am-4:30pm PT (some flexibility)

Job Overview:

The Clinical Affairs Associate I coordinates ongoing clinical affairs projects under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Affairs and other managers within the Clinical Affairs team. This person is responsible for managing genetic counseling referrals through electronic and telephone communications. He/She works with the clinical affairs staff to assist in fulfillment of client requests for data as needed. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed by the manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Process, coordinate, schedule, and monitor genetic counseling referrals including communicating directly with patients and updating their healthcare providers on referral status using internal and external systems
2. Triage incoming patient and client communications
3. Be a liaison between genetic counseling services and other internal departments, including updates to management regarding genetic counseling services
4. Assist with routine data verification and quality control for clinical affairs projects such as genetic counseling referrals, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
5. Assist Manager, Clinical Affairs and other team members in fulfillment of client requests for data as needed.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant academic field such as science, psychology or public health

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Skill, Abilities and Capabilities):

  • Excellent telephone and communication skills.
  • Technical knowledge of laboratory testing and terminology is desirable.
  • Capable of excelling within a team environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to communicate effectively, lead meetings and lead projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, attention to detail, ability to cross reference information, ability to prioritize work, telephone skills, computer skills, working knowledge of standard office equipment (computers, printers fax machines, phone systems, office software and internet).
  • Flexibility with regard to job assignments. Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Knowledge of Progeny database.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word required.
  • Background in biology and genetics and/or patient services in healthcare preferred
  • Experience in biotechnical business development, clinical affairs or clinical research departments a plus
