About the Role
Uber’s Trust & Security Organization is looking for an experienced individual to lead its Physical Security Systems (PSS) program. This individual will set the strategy and manage Uber’s global footprint of security systems to include Uber’s Access Control & Badging program, Security Builds program, and Systems Administration teams.
What You’ll Do
– Lead an experienced and diverse team to ensure timely delivery of services to global stakeholders
– Be responsible for all technical physical security systems, solutions, and integrations within Uber’s ecosystem, to include the following system types: physical access control, CCTV, visitor management, radio-over-IP, and associated technical infrastructure
– Lead all aspects of Uber’s Builds and Access Control & Badging program to ensure new building project installations are sufficiently hardened with physical security systems to mitigate risks and access controls are appropriately managed
– Oversee Uber’s Systems Administration team to triage and resolve security system incidents and maintenance issues, to include programming and commissioning of recently installed security systems
– Supervise all PSS policies and procedural documentation to ensure alignment with industry best practices and standards as well as to Uber’s risk posture
– Collaborate with Regional Security Managers to understand security risks and how PSS fits into mitigation strategies
– Develop sustainable strategies to further integrate the PSS team within Global Security Operations
– Effectively manage the PSS budget, to include identifying spending efficiencies through contract negotiations with vendors
– Use industry expertise to see around corners and build a system of delivery that fits Uber’s current and future needs
Basic Qualifications
– Minimum 10+ years of experience leading and/or executing Physical and Technical Security operations
– Demonstrated breadth of experience leading and setting strategy for global operations; ability to get big, often complex, things done
– Experience leading a team across multiple time zones
– May require periodic domestic and international travel
Preferred Qualifications
– Proven experience handling a large budget, security contracts, and purchase orders; ability to successfully manage vendor relationships
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including translation of sophisticated concepts and issues into insights for Senior Management and non-technical audiences
– Good interpersonal skills; ability to brief technical topics
– Experience handling confidential materials, systems, and information
– Demonstrated success in working closely with a range of company partners, to include Security, Facilities, Investigations, HR, Engineering Security, as well as external partners such as industry peers or organizations
– Demonstrable ability to mentor teams and individuals
For Dallas, TX-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $167,000 per year – $185,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $185,000 per year – $205,500 per year.
For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $185,000 per year – $205,500 per year.
