Director of Talent Acquisition

JOB SUMMARY:

In partnership with the Senior Director Human Resources, the Director of Talent Acquisition will lead Northgate Market’s efforts to source, attract, and hire top talent to ensure the continued success and growth of the company. This role requires a strategic mindset, excellent leadership skills, and deep knowledge of talent acquisition practices, state and federal laws, trends, and benchmarks. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive recruiting strategies, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the organization consistently hires high-quality associates. The Director of Talent Acquisition will also play a large role in shaping and promoting the organization’s employer brand to help advance our objective of establishing Northgate Markets as an employer of choice.

ESSENTIALL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy to meet the organization’s short-term and long-term hiring needs.
  • Collaborate with department leaders and hiring managers to define role requirements and develop effective job descriptions.
  • Lead the Talent Acquisition team in sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selecting candidates, ensuring a positive and efficient experience for all involved.
  • Responsible for developing and leading the Talent Acquisition team, creating an inspiring team environment and providing mentorship and coaching to team members
  • Develop effective strategies to attract and develop talent through assessments, competencies, and skills.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate associate lifecycle programs to ensure the proper attraction, retention, and engagement of associates.
  • Manage the seasonal hiring and internal transfer process.
  • Utilize data analytics to measure the effectiveness of Talent Acquisition processes. Implement necessary improvements and report on key recruitment metrics to senior management.
  • Develop a strategic approach to onboarding and culture assimilation in order to retain top talent and sustain company culture and values.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with various recruitment channels, including professional networks, universities, and recruitment agencies.
  • Ensure the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in all recruitment and hiring processes.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in Talent Acquisition, implementing innovative solutions as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skills

  • Strong understanding of Talent Acquisition strategies and practices, particularly within the retail sector.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of driving team performance.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently, be influential, and lead with collaboration and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain highly effective internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to analyze recruitment metrics and use data-driven insights to improve processes and strategies.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Experience with diversity recruitment strategies and programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, Recruitment, Talent Management, or Organizational Development, preferably within the retail industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in using HR technologies such as ATS and recruitment software.

Salary Range: $120k to $170k

  • The work environment is that typical of an office and retail store environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
