Duties
The Pathways Intern Program is designed to attract students in a wide variety of educational institutions (high school, home-school programs, vocational and technical, undergraduate and graduate) with paid opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school. This program exposes students to jobs in the Federal civil service by providing meaningful developmental work at the beginning of their career, before their career paths are fully established. The major responsibilities and duties of this position may consist of, but not limited to:
- This incumbent will serve as a Student Trainee under the Pathways Program.
- This program is designed to provide work experience and formal education in the related field as it relates to the students’ degree.
- This is a trainee position in public health communications in which the incumbent receives formal and on-the- job training designed to familiarize him/her with the functions and operations for the organization and to provide practical application of health communications concepts, principles and techniques.
- This incumbent will assist senior staff in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of various health communication and marketing activities. Incumbent supports activities related to program and project planning, development, implementation, and evaluation.

Qualifications
To be eligible for this internship position, ALL of the following requirements must be met:
- Academic Enrollment: You must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited high school, technical or vocational school, two-year or four-year college or university, graduate, or professional school (go to https://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/ to verify accreditation status). Individuals who are enrolled must be taking at least a half-time academic, vocational, or technical course load leading to a degree, diploma, or certificate. “Half-time” is defined by the school in which the student is enrolled.

Basic Qualifications
For the GS-7 applicants must have completed 1 full academic year of graduate level education or have eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor’s degree.
