We are looking for a Associate Data Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining our data ingestion pipelines as well as adding new functionality when needed. Our projects ingest structured and unstructured data from multiple sources that eventually ends up in a unified Data Lake. This data is available for reporting and analytics by various other teams. This candidate should be comfortable working with SQL as well as NoSQL databases. Should be an excellent programmer. AWS experience is a plus.
Your primary focus will be the continuous development/improvement of our data ingestion pipelines, and data parsing. Major technologies involved include MongoDB, Elasticsearch, S3, AWS Glue, Lambda Functions, Amazon Athena, Redshift and RDS.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Design & Develop ETL Scripts in Python (preferably PySpark) and SQL for data ingestion & data processing.
- Design and develop stream and batch processing data pipelines.
- Support existing and develop new data flows as needed by developing processes that verify, standardize, and scale data input, transformation, and storage.
- Collaborate with product managers and other engineers to implement and document complex and evolving requirements
- Research and implement innovative solutions to solve challenges related to ETL, data processing, and analytics.
- Support efforts by the Data Science and Data Analytics teams.
- Ability to debug complex data issues with some guidance from senior team members.
- Occasional Linux server management including the review or management of log files, crontab, security configuration, etc.
- Developing techniques to work with both tabular and hierarchical data.
- Strong attention to detail, good work ethic, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and good communication skills
Required Skills
- 2+ years of programming experience in Python & SQL.
- A degree in Computer Science or an equivalent major.
- Experience working with various database systems: SQL Server/PostgreSQL/Redshift etc.
- Enjoys collaborating with other engineers on architecture and sharing designs with the team

- Experience working with PHI/Healthcare
- AI / ML / AWS
This position will work on a Hybrid schedule, coming into the DC office as needed. When working remotely, you must be self-motivated, possess excellent time management, and be highly organized in an environment where shifting priorities are the norm. Reliable internet connection is a must!

ACR’s goal is to pay competitively and equitably. It is typical for individuals to be hired in the entry to middle of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on each case’s circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the compensation range is $67,550 – $90,050.
