Brief Descriptions: The candidate for this position will primarily be responsible for assisting the Compliance Department in regulatory compliance, specifically assisting the Regulatory Compliance Counsel, Director of Compliance and Chief Compliance Officer in day-to-day matters. The successful candidate must be able to perform legal research; communicate and respond to requests from state regulators and federal/state examiners for information and documentation;. The candidate will assist Compliance management with special projects, risk analysis, and implementation of policy, procedures and remediation, if necessary.
The ideal candidate must possess initiative, a generalized legal knowledge of corporate matters, specifically auto finance preferred, regulatory rules and regulations, be able to make reasoned decisions, provide insight, and analysis with little if any guidance, be detail oriented yet see the big picture, and have strong organizational, analytical, written and oral communication skills.
DUTIES, TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES(include, but not limited to)
- Assist in the managing the day-to-day operations of the Compliance Department, establish and meet timeliness associated with all ongoing regulatory compliance matters and line of business requirements.
- Coordinate with Lines of Business to compile data, documents and information regarding regulatory compliance matters
- Provide guidance and where applicable, training to other departments concerning development of policy, procedures, and compliance.
- Review, revise and create new policies, procedures and business-level manuals
- Respond to Executive requests for status reports
- Conduct legal research, prepare memoranda and position papers, white papers, review and summarize all daily articles, new cases, or other reference material to keep Compliance Management team apprised of changes in the law
- Assist Vendor Management in the drafting or review of vendor agreements and contracts, along with onboarding and annual review/audits of vendors
- Assist Credit Disputes team in evaluation of meeting of FCRA requirements;
- Assist Audit Team in the understanding and interpretation of state or federal consumer financial protection statutes
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES
- Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills, computer literate especially in Word and Excel
- Knowledge of auto finance, regulatory, and compliance rules and regulations, strong legal research skills
- Multi-task, prioritize with limited supervision, make reasoned judgments and recommendations
- Work in a fast paced, dynamic, ever changing regulatory and operational environment
- Fast learner, able to keep up with a heavy workload and time pressures
- Knowledge of corporate structures and organizations
- Attention to detail is a must.
EDUCATION
- Foreign Law School Graduate, or
- Paralegal Certification from ABA approved program

What’s the expected pay for this role?
- Base pay of $75,000 – $85,000 per year
- The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.
