This Production Trainer is responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and conducting onboarding and training on their assigned shift at Sartori Whey. This position functions as the key training resource for new hires and temporary Team Members and will deliver training in accordance with training program objectives. The Production Trainer will schedule training activities, coordinate resource availability, and provide guidance and mentoring for Team Members to further develop their skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Identifies on-the-job training objectives and supports the development of operational and technical training programs and materials for every position in the facility
  • Supports the operations team in the execution of training for new and temporary Team Members
  • Solicits feedback to identify areas for improvement in the training process
  • Identifies gaps in performance and defines a plan to close the gaps
  • Leverages feedback from stakeholders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement for new hire orientation and on-the-job training
  • Coordinates and/or conducts Team Member training concerning the safe and efficient assembly, operation and utilization of plant and support equipment and manufacturing systems
  • Facilitates onboarding training for new hires and temporary Team Members in conjunction with Supervisors and Team Leaders
  • Ensures all Team Members receive appropriate training for their position.
  • Assesses Team Members’ operational knowledge and recommends and facilitates re-training as necessary.
  • Supports and facilitates Train the Trainer program to empower Team Members as trainers in the facility.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations for updates to process work instructions.
  • Verifies and evaluate effectiveness of training and recommends improvements.
  • Complies with all company Safety, HACCP and GMP policies.
  • Immediately reports any food safety or quality issues to management or other individual authorized to initiate action.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required. Associate’s Degree, preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years work related experience in a manufacturing setting, required.
  • Experience in participating in Process Improvement teams, desired.
  • Successful completion of Train-the-Trainer program, preferred.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of GMPs, product/machine function and operation, and assembly procedures and techniques,
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles to select and use appropriate instructional methods.
  • Strong oral, written, organization and presentation skills to effectively prepare training materials, coordinate training activities, and deliver classroom and hands-on instruction.
  • Leadership ability to enforce safety policies and practices during hands-on training exercises.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to develop work teams and motivate them to apply new skills and techniques that are aligned with business needs.
  • Passionate about engaging others in identifying and defining opportunities for improvements.
  • Possess the ability to problem-solve by gaining buy-in from a cross-functional teams and to view situations objectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to handle multiple, complex priorities and balance the needs of each according to business impact.
  • Self- motivated with a high degree of ownership and accountability for results.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is sometimes exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. Furthermore, the Team Member will occasionally be exposed to different atmospheric conditions including refrigeration in our Processing Room. Likewise, occasional exposure to hazards such as moving, mechanical parts as well as toxic and/or caustic chemicals should be expected.
