Position Hours: 7 am to 3:45 pm cst – Mon through Fri (1st shift)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Operate and maintain the wastewater treatment plant systems
  • Make adjustments with valves, switches and pumps in the pump stations
  • Perform laboratory testing required by the Mississippi DEQ (PH, DO, Chlorine)
  • Complete state required reports/records of the Wastewater Plant
  • Complete and maintain records for the Wastewater Plant operations
  • Complete and maintain records for the Plant Pest Control program
  • Complete and maintain records for the Hazardous Waste Management Program
  • Maintain the Solid / Hazardous Waste Management Program
  • Maintain and Inspect the Plant Fire System
  • Perform Safety Inspections
  • Operate the Wastewater Treatment Plant computer system
  • Work outside in hot/cold conditions and in confined spaces
  • Be the contact person for auditors and the state inspectors
  • Be able to lift 50 or more pounds
  • Be able to climb stairs in below ground pump stations

What you’ll bring:

  • High School Education or equivalent
  • Pass Class III examination for Pollution Control Operators within two (2) years after entering the department
  • Experience in electrical, electronic and mechanical troubleshooting
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment; volt-ohm meter, ammeter, etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and install DC equipment/controllers, relays, motors
  • Ability to perform Industrial Maintenance
  • Ability to perform pipe fitting and welding
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to bend and stoop
  • Ability to work in tight spaces
  • Ability to meet confined space requirements
  • Comfortable around water
  • Meet visual acuity requirements as documented in Baxter Procedure CL-01-01-037
  • Ability to pass pulmonary function test and respiratory fit test
  • No facial hair around pulmonary seal area
  • MUST have at least 3 years general maintenance experience

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a salary range of $36,000 to $90,000. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
