URM Stores, Inc. is looking for an experienced, highly motivated Business Systems Analyst/Developer to join our IT team based in Spokane, WA. This position will be part of the Application Technology team which is composed of a great group of individuals with a dedication to making sure our solutions work to the highest quality to meet the needs of our company. Responsibilities:

  • Understand the basic functions of the assigned business area.
  • Develop, recommend, and/or implement new business solutions. Analyzes existing business and computer operations, process applications and systems.
  • Modify existing applications/processes for increased efficiency.
  • Prepare estimates for assigned projects and/or tasks.
  • Develop test plans (alpha, unit, system) and approve the results of such plans.
  • Develop implementation plans with the business area that include, but are not limited to, training data conversion and set up.
  • Work with the business area to develop new or modified application workflows that follow standards and establish policies.
  • Ensure the success of assigned projects/tasks by managing expectations and controlling exceptions by clearly defining and working within the scope and communicating accurate status.
  • Understand the various application platforms used by the assigned business area.
  • Work with user base directly in a professional and supportive manner.
  • Provide on-call support as required.
  • Willingness/Enthusiasm to grow skill set in support of core organization solutions built on the IBM iSeries AS400 platform.
  • If required:
  • a. Provide written and oral reports.
  • b. Peer review in house developed business solutions.
  • If not local to the Spokane, WA – Couer d’Alene, ID area, must be willing to relocate within a two (2) hour radius of our Corporate Office in Spokane, WA.
  • MUST BE FLEXIBLE IN WORK HOURS.

Qualifications:

  • IT related Degree or at least three (3) years of experience in IT systems development and support roles, or combination of degree and experience.
  • Full stack development experience
  • Application support experience
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Business Analysis and Process documentation experience
  • Understand Data Base Concepts and Development Methods
  • Understanding of complex system environments
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

Bonus if you have:

  • Experience in Warehouse or Retail Grocery Businesses.
  • Experience with IBM’s AS400/iSeries development tools.
