About The Transportation Department:

The Transportation Department’s mission is to facilitate safe and secure commercial transportation on public highways, railroads and transportation facilities, as well as to promote quality and equitable service in a proactive manner for the public and commercial carriers in the household goods, bus and ferry boat industries. This is accomplished through reduction and prevention of crashes involving commercial motor vehicles, reduction and prevention of hazardous materials incidents, development of consumer protection regulations, and resolution of consumer and carrier complaints.

What You’ll Do:

In this position as an Administrative Professional 3 you will:

  • review, process and analyze motor carrier registrations;
  • use computer to access database to locate carrier and registration history;
  • update and verify carrier records;
  • identify and correct data errors or discrepancies;
  • enter and evaluate case information
  • respond via phone to general registration/civil forfeiture questions from the general public
  • maintain thorough knowledge of processes and procedures to assist staff with difficult and/or special motor carrier applications

REPORT TO WORK LOCATION: The employee’s home will be the primary work location.* The employee’s home must be
located within 50 air miles of 180 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43215.

Our organization currently follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office as needed and based on operational need. This is subject to change with limited notice. A teleworking agreement must be approved by management

Qualifications
Completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college; 12 mos. exp. in secretarial/administrative professional field.

-Or 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in secretarial/administrative professional field.

-Or 12 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 2, 16872.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
