Pay Range

$84,960.00 – $105,480.00 Annually for the A01.2 level

$101,880.00 – $126,504.00 Annually for the A01.3 level

Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.

Job Description

We have an opening for an IT Business Operations Specialistin IT. You will be a key member of the program’s management team and will work independently to plan, execute, and/or provide oversight to a variety of workforce, operational and organizational requirements, and activities. This position is within the Weapons and Complex Integration (WCI) Directorate.

This position will be filled at either the A01.2 or A01.3 level depending on your qualifications. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if you are selected at the higher level.

In this roleyou will

  • Provide a high level of executive support to the IT Manager and other members of the management team.
  • Using comprehensive knowledge of functional area and general knowledge of related areas, assesses, applies, implements, and approves business, operational, and/or organizational requirements, practices, and deliverables.
  • Prepare and review a variety of reports and documentation for adherence to policy, to ensure consistency, and advise management.
  • Supervise exempt/non-exempt administrative staff including all supervisory responsibilities; oversee hiring, performance appraisals, and provide guidance in career development.
  • Research and analyze business, operational, and/or organizational issues and problems; prepare reports for management’s use and decision making. Prepare and coordinate responses to requests from organizations internal and external to the Laboratory.
  • Manage office space and building projects for the IT Group.
  • Develop and implement plans to promote culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

In Addition, at the A01.3 Level

  • Provide high-level facilitation and collaboration with the IT Program and WCI senior management to achieve long-range goals, serving as a member of the management team and participating in all aspects of workforce planning, business operational issues, and strategic planning activities.
  • Establish metrics, reviews, coordinates, and contributes to the definition of budget, project, and program reporting requirements.

Qualifications

  • This position requires an active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top-Secret clearance issued by another U.S. government agency at the time of hire
  • Understanding of principles of personnel administration, policies and procedures, and state and federal laws. Knowledge and understanding of HR compliance requirements for personnel administration (FLSA, ADA, EEO, etc.).
  • Experience working on organizational projects and experience researching, interpreting, and applying related policies and procedures.
  • Experience interacting with all levels of personnel exercising a high degree of discretion, mature judgment, and tact in handling issues of a sensitive nature and demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills necessary to effectively explain, present, direct, and influence others.
  • Working knowledge of automated business tools/techniques and expert use of MS Office applications and experience developing complex reports for use in management decision making.
  • Advanced problem solving, analytical and organizational skills with the ability to anticipate, identify and resolve complex issues in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and commitment to diversity and fostering an inclusive and equitable organization.

In Addition, at the A01.3 Level

  • Experience leading and supervising business, operational and/or organizational activities; participating in a variety of organizational projects and researching, interpreting, implementing, and applying a wide variety of policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Experience overseeing internal and external audits, assessments, action items, or high-level inquiries.
  • Associate degree in a business-related field, or equivalent combination of significant experience and education in a business, operational and/or organizational area.
