Senior Product Manager – Tech, Amazon CodeWhisperer

Amazon CodeWhisperer is an AI coding companion that generates real-time, single-line or full-function code suggestions in Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) to help developers quickly build software. As a Senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for understanding customer needs and delivering some of our most strategic technical features that will have a significant bottom-line impact on our business and competitive position. You will own product roadmaps and work with engineering, data science, and marketing teams on prioritization. You define the problem(s) we are trying to solve, desired customer experience, vision, tenets, and product strategy. You will be seen as the subject matter expert for your area of focus within Amazon Generative AI.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead Product Definition – Own and drive the working backwards strategy, tenets, long-term goals and documents (press release, FAQ) including customer and market feedback, competitive analysis and business metrics to inform direction.
  • Define Product Vision – Including all aspects of future roadmap, investment, innovation and experimentation.
  • Execution of Product Planning and Development – Including customer goals and business requirements for product release, ensuring implementation is aligned with product goals and requirements, and ownership of product positioning.
  • Lead Product Launch – Own the GTM plan to deliver results that ensure the customer and business goals are met in operational launch plans.
  • Lead Operations – Including monitoring and response to customer feedback, continuous improvement and business growth.
  • Lead interaction with Technical Team – Including helping the technical team make tradeoffs based on customer needs, competitive landscape, and strategic priorities.
  • Influence other product PMs and leaders across Amazon, and communicate Amazon’s Generative AI’s vision, strategy, goals, status, and customer impact.

A day in the life

You will balance your time between talking to and learning from customers, researching trends in AI, defining and running experiments with science and engineering teams, collaborating with marketing and sales teams, and capturing all of that influence into plans for new product capabilities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience managing technical products or online services
  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
